what we do

Each child has a separate training programme based on individual assessment. The

skills and therapeutic training activities include:

  • Self-help Skills Training
Basic self-help skills such as toileting, bathing, dressing and feeding

  • Communication Skills Training
Learning to communicate via signs, pictures, objects and body language

  • Motor Skills Training
    Developing co-ordination, balance and agility

  • Stimulation Exercises
Picture and puzzle sorting, colouring, painting, pasting and other activities
  • Basic arithmetic, writing, spelling and reading for those who can

  • Sensory Stimulation in the Snoezelen Room
Our Snoezelen Room is a magical place of dazzling fibre optic cables, a xylophone, a vibrating water-bubble tower, music, moving pictures, soft cushions, and other things that stimulate the senses of sight, touch and hearing.

  • In between training activities, there is time for playing on the swing, exercises on the front lawn, checking up on the plants that carry each child’s name and exercising on the walking machine.

There’s always time for visitors, for homemade lunch, teatime snacks, a shower and a bit of rest.

Our centre opens from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

It is closed on weekends, public holidays and for two weeks at the end of the year.

our fundraising efforts

Almost every year, we organise a jumble sale at our premises. This sale has a 3-fold function. One, we raise funds. Two, we raise public awareness of our centre in the media. Three, we price most items at very low figures and sometimes give them away. As many customers come from the lower income bracket and some are foreign workers, this is our contribution to society in thanks for the many kindnesses shown to us.

  • We also take part in the annual Austrian-German-Swiss (AGS) Christmas Bazaar selling items made by generous contributors. AGS too has become a very kind contributor to our centre.

  • The year 2016 finds us participating for the first time in the Annual Charity Walk/ Jog/Wheel-A- Thon with the Disabled, organised by Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor & FT and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, to raise funds for our centre. We hope to make this an annual fund raising effort.

  • Apart from selling items made by others, we cannot do much as our children are too severely mentally disabled to make things on their own.
